Community Choices Pty Ltd
is a rapidly growing company and we are looking for people to work with us to provide services in a variety of areas.

Please contact us if you feel you meet most or all of the following criteria.


Education Requirements, Desirable Skills and Personal Qualities

The minimum requirements for employees in support roles, basic home care or to offer companionship, cleaning and meal preparation are:
Senior First Aid
Police Clearance
Certificate 3 in Community Services (Disability Work) 

To be eligible to work in areas such as:
Support in recreation and School Holiday programs
Support in developmental programs
Support/Home Care
Support in Camps

You require all of the above minimum requirements, plus the following extended requirements:
Manual Handling Certificate
Credentials Specific to individual clients

 


To be eligible for Senior positions within the programs such as:
Senior position within Recreation programs
Senior position in Camps
Senior position within Day Options programs
that involve writing programs designed to meet specific outcomes; booking venues; record-keeping; communication with clients & families and providing a high quality service that reflects the values and beliefs of Community Choices, you will need all of the above minimum and extended requirements plus:

Train the Trainer or equivalent
Specialised training e.g. Challenging Behaviour
Workshops, Mealtime Management etc
Childhood Education Certificate
Medication Training
Credentials specific to individual clients

OTHER DESIRABLE PERSONAL QUALITIES:
Community Choices looks for applicants with a good attitude and empathy towards people with disabilities.

Applicants need to be flexible and adaptable to many different situations.

A good sense of humour is also essential.

ANOTHER OPTION

Applicants who have further studies behind them in relevant areas can also be in a position to co-ordinate programs.

This involves support in:
Writing programs
Making bookings for clients to attend the programs
Keeping records of attendance numbers

A co-ordinator is also responsible for passing on relevant information that needs to be put together for funding bodies

With all these positions, skills need to be upgraded regularly
